Limerick Generat!ng Station, Unit 1 Reply to a Notice of Violation NRC Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50-352/93-30 and 50-353/93-30 This letter is in response to your June 16,1994 correspondence regarding our May 13,1994 Reply to a Notice of Violation.
Your ietter requested that we provide the date when full compliance will be achieved. For the first violation regarding the failure to properly inspect the air start distributor timing, full compliance was achieved on November 15,1993, when the Unit 1 D14 Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) was successfully tested and returned to service following realignment of the air start distributor cam. For the second violation regarding the failure to implement vendor recommendations regarding tang to air start distributor deformation, full compliance was achieved in November 1993 when the vendor's acceptable alternative to modifying the tang / slot connection was implemented, i.e., when a timing check was successfully periormed on all eight EDGs (i e., Units 1 and 2) to ensure proper timing of each engine, and in particular, following realignment of the air start distributor cam on the D14 EDG.
