SUBJECT:

Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-313 and 50-368 License Nos. DPR-51 and NPF-6 Withdrawal of Proposed Technical Specifications on Snubber Inspections Gentlemen:

In letters dated February 27, 1989, (ICAN028901 and 2CAN028901) AP&L submitted proposed Technical Specifications involving the visual inspection periods for inaccesc.ible snubbers. These proposed changes were requested to allow visual snubber inspections to be delayed until the next scheduled outage rather than requiring an outage specifically for snubber inspections.

Since these requests were made various unplanned outages as well as the scheduled midcycle outage for ANO-1 have eliminated the need for the requested changes. Therefore, as allowed by 10CFR2.107, we request that the proposed Technical Specification changes involving snubber inspection intervals submitted February 27, 1989 be withdrawn from consideration.

Very truly yours, Charles H. Turk Acting Menager, Licensing CHT:lw I
