] 6; , AR: MAJOR MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE This report descrIb<es the operating and major maintenance experience fur the month of September, 1987. This narrative report was prepared by the plant staff and is submittei.in accordance with Section 6.9.1.7 of the. Units 1 and 2. Technical Specifications.

Narrative of Daily Significant Plant Events On September 1, 1987 Unit 1 and Unit 2 started the month at 100%

power.

At 1910 PDT, Technical Specification (TS) 3.0.3 was entered when the limiting condition for operation of TS 3.7.6.1 was not met. TS 3.7.6.1 was not met when both trains of I auxiliary building ventilation became inoperable. At 1930 POT, TS 3.0.3 was exited

v. hen both trains of the auxiliary building ventilation were restarted.

On September 4, 1987 Unit 1 decreased power to 45% to perform maintenance on the steam generator blowdown system, Main Feedwater Pump 1-2, Circulating Water Pump 1-2, and to perform water box cleaning.

On September 5, 1987 Unit 1 returned to full power after completing maintenance on the steam generator blowdown system, Main Feedwater Pump 1-2, Circulatir,g Water Pump 1-2, and af ter completing water box cleaning.

On September 12, 1987 Unit i decreased power to 54% to perform main feedwater pump response testing and to clean condenser water boxes.

On September 13, 1987 Unit i returned to full power after completing main feedwater pump response testing and cleaning condenser water boxes.

On September 30, 1987 Unit 1 and Unit 2 ended the month at 100% j power. l l

' Summary of-Plant Operating Characteristics, Power Reductions and Unit Shutdowns

. Unit 1 operated this month.with a unit availability factor of 100% and a unit-capacity factor.of 98.6%. Unit 1. decreased power twice .this month, once to. perform maintenance on'the steam generator blowdown. i system, Main Feedwater Pump'l-2, Circulating Water Pump 1-2, and to-L perform water box cleaning and once-to perform main feedwater pump. response testing'and to clean' condenser water boxes.
