INOPERABLE RADIATION MONITOR

-A. Requirement for Report i This report is required in accordance with the Vogtle Electric j Generating Plant Technical Specifications Section 3.3.3.6, Table 3.3-8, '

Item 15, Action Statement 3?. This section requires a special report to be submitted when a st',am line radiation raonitor is inoperable for longer than the Technical Specification allowed outage time.

B. Description of Rwatior, Monitor Inoperability Steam line radiation monitor 1RE-13120 was removed from service on ,

4-15-90 when personnel were unable to enter parameters on the D1gital '

Process :lodule (DPM) from the Safety Related Display Console-(SRDC).

. Maintenance Work Order (MW0) 19001969 was initiated and troubleshooting began, but the problem could not be identified initially. A vendor-representative subsequently found that a short had occurred in a DPM strcuit board.

A new circuit board was installed on 4-30-90 and the monitor was returned to service by 5-1-90.
