'Ihe subject inspection report identified two activities which were in violation of 10 T R50, Appendix B. As applicable, our response includes (1) corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further non-cmpliance; and (3) the date when full cmpliance will be achieved. The NRC position on.the cited violation and the corresponding AP&L response are pro-vided below:

Based on the results of the NFC inspection conducted January 17-21, 1977, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in full cmpliance with your Reactor License or NBC requirments as indicated below:

1. Criterion V of Appendix B to 10GR50 requires that ac' e ties affecting quality shall be prescribed by documer. -!

a. Contrary. to the above, Maintenance Procedure 1405.01 does not include appropriate acceptance criteria for the station battery daily surveillance checks as re-quired by Step 4.1 of Quality Control Procedure 1004.12.
b. Contrary to the above, the computer printouts for the Power Range Linear Amp Calibration at Power conducted on December 3, 13, 23, 27 and 31, 1976, were not signed as required by Step 7.1 of Surveillance Test Procedure 1304.32.

'Ihis is an infraction.

AP&L RESPONSE

1. Maintenance Procedure 1405.01 will be revised to include appropriate acceptance criteria for the station battery daily surveillance checks. This revision is expected to be cx2nplete by March 1,1977.
2. The surveillance test records documenting the execution of Procedure 1304.32 for the month of December, 1976, have s been reviewed and endorsed in accordance with the stated requirement. Plant personnel have been instructed to ccxnply with paragraph 7.1 of Procedure 1304.32. It is our belief that, at this time, we are in full ccrnpliance with Prm-hre 1304.32.
