Houston Lighting and Power Company Allen's Creek Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 Docket No. 50-466

Dear Sir:

With reference to my letter of August 21, 1979, I wish to amend the submitted petition for leave to intervene to include the following contentions:

1. I live in the Valley Lodge subdivision of Siconton, Te:cas, within a few miles (less than 15) of the proposed Allen's Creek Nuclear Plant. My f amily and I will be adversely affected by radioactive emissions from this plant.
a. Potential health hasard to wife, children and myself.
b. Potential decrease in the value of our home and property.
2. The proposed cooling lake will increase the probability of a Brazos River overflow, increasin6 the danger of flooding of my property.
3. Alternative locations may not have been adequately considered following the reduction in size of the proposed Allen's Creek site. The Allen's Creek site is close to a rapidly growing area (metropolitan Houston). The population center of this metropolitan area is movin6 west, toward the proposed site.

Within the projected lifetine of the facility (40 years after start up) the population of the metropolitan area may reach ten million; and the center of the projected population will shift significantly toward the site.

Thank you for your consideration in chis matter.

Respectfully submitted, CD1I
