Gentlemen:

Enclosed are twenty (20) copies of the ANO-1 Cycle 5 Reload Report for your review. Presently, ANO-1 is scheduled to shutdown for re-fueling on January 2, 1980, for a ten-week outage. This shutdown is earlier than originally planned, and will thus cause Cycle 5 to be started earlier than analyzed for in the attached BAW-1606 report.

Because of this fact, an amendment to the Cycle 5 Reload Report will be issued by February 1,1980, and the proposed Technical Specifica-tion changes will be submitted at that time.

The " Extended Burnup Lead Test Assembly Irradiation Program" (BAW-1626) referenced in the Cycle 5 Reload Report will be transmitted by November 7, 1980.

Please review the attached report based on the information supplied above. AP&L will make every effort to expedite issuance of the Cycle 5 Reload Report amendment and proposed Technical Specification changes.

Very truly yours,
