Vermont Yankee Safety Parameter Display System (VY SPDS)
By letter dated February 1, 1985 [ Reference c)], Vermont Yankee submitted the functional VY SPDS Safety Analysis Report in accordance with the commitments and schedules for addressing the concerns detailed in NUREG 0737, Supplement 1,
      " Requirements for Emergency Response Capability" [ Reference b)]. That report presented the VY SPDS design approach, major safety functions and parameters, and SPDS implementation schedule resulting from the integrated VY Emergency Response Capability Program for SPDS, Emergency Operating Procedures, Detailed Control Room Design Review, Regulatory Guide 1.97 assessment, and new Emergency Response Facility.
In order to assist your review of the VY SPDS, enclosed herein is the revised SPDS Safety Analysis Report which expands and supersedes the functional SAR previously submitted.
As confirmed by your letter of August 29, 1985 [ Reference d)], the require-ment for Vermont Yankee's SPDS to be fully operational and operators trained is scheduled for completion prior to startup fer Cycle 14 (approximately fall of 1988).
