OF MEETING DRAFT REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RESPONSES SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND NOVEMBER 18, The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of PSEG Nuclear, LLC (the applicant) held a telephone conference call on November 18,2010, to discuss and clarify 1) the applicant responses to the NRC's request for additional information (RAI B.2.1.33-07) and 2) NRC open item in the Safety Evaluation Report with Open Items on leakage from the spent fuel pool. Discussion on Response to RAI 8.2.1.33-07 The applicant discussed their proposed response to RAI B.2.1.33-07. The NRC staff clarified that, although the RAI and the open item may seem to discuss different issues, they are both related to the same concern. The meeting led to an agreement that the applicant should cover all of the responses in their formal RAI response, and that their presentation to the ACRS Subcommittee on December 1,2010, should cover both the RAt and the response to the open item. The meeting led to an agreement that the response did not have to be submitted until December 15, 2010, to possibly capture additional information that may come up in the ACRS meeting.
