Dear Mr. Johnson:
On March 21, 1986, we-verbally notified your Mr. R. Hall of a deficiency concerning the minimum concrete coverage required for reinforcing steel of the walls.and floors. Minimum coverage is necessary to maintain the three ~
(3) hour fire rating.' This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Evaluation by Gibbs & Hill is underway to determine the effects of temperature (during a' fire) on reinforcing steel. Upon the completion of this evaluation, the accumulative effects on the integrity of the
' structures can be assessed. We anticipate submitting our next report by June 6, 1986. ,
