UNUSUAL EVENT IN VICINITY OF WATERFORD 3 At 9:13 a.m. on August 29, 1985, the licensee declared an unusual event due to approaching hurricane Elana, with sustained winds of 75 plus mph. They are corrently under a weather warning condition.
The licensee has implemented their emergency procedure and are preparing the site for the possible approach of adverse weather conditions.
The NRC does not plan to issue a press release but will respond to any media inquiries.
The state of Louisiana has been informed.
