FIRE IN STORAGE BUILDING

~On January 8,.1986, a fire destroyed a warehouse building outside the protected area at the

- Callaway Nuclear Power Station.

, The fire was discovered about 8 p.m. in the 30 foot by 50 foot metal structure, which was b us':d for storage of insulation and paint and for some work activities. The plant fire brigade and the North Callaway Fire Department were dispatched, and the fire was reported und;r control at 9:10 p.m.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. There were no injuries reported. No radioactive material was involved.

There has been local news media interest in ine fire.

The State of Missouri will be notified. -

Region III (Chicago) was notified of the fire at 10:10 p.m. by the Headquarters duty cffic;r. This information is current as of 9 a.m., December 9,1986.
