An ironworker employed at the Callaway construction site has alleged that defective 'imbedments were installed in concrete structures, that QC inspectors are inadequately trained and that QC inspectors that identify problems fear disciplinary action.

The alleger was interviewed by RIII personnel on October 19, 1977, and requested to remain anonymous. Alsoattendingtheinterview(atthe request of the alleger) was a newspaper reporter and a " Nuclear Critic."

Investigation / inspection into the charges by RIII was initiated on October 26, 1977, following completion of an evaluation of the allegations.

Considerable news media interest has been exhibited in St. Louis and nearby site communities and this interest is expected to remain high.
