A member of the New Jersey Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders held a press conference on September 16, 1980 to discuss the. rumored dumping of radioactive waste at an offsite landfill, which was the subject of PNO-T-80-130 Since issuance of PNO-I-80-130, the Ocean County RLdiological Officer, at the request of the Frecholder, conducted a radiation survey of the subject landfill and detected no abnormal act.ivity levels.
Media interest has been expressed. A press release is not planned by the NRC or the licensee. The llRC and the licensee are responding to press inquiries.
