Subject:

BOMB THREAT At 4:35 p.m., on March 24, 1986, the station telephone operator received an outside call from a young male caller who stated, " Bomb planted 305," and hung up. The telephone operator notified the security shift commander and bomb threat procedures were implemented at approximately 4:40 p.m. The licensee then declared an Unusual Event at 4:55 p.m. A search was conducted of accessible vital areas, the protected area, and the owner controlled area. The searches were complete at approximately 6:20 p.m. with negative results. The Unusual Event was terminated at 6:24 p.m.

Lacey Township Police, Ocean Township Police, New Jersey State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the explosive ordinance disposal detachment at Fort Dix, New Jersey were notified by the licensee.

The NRC Operations Center was notified at 5:05 p.m. via the ENS telephone.

The NRC's IAT and the State of New Jersey have been informed.

This PNS is current as of 9:00 a.m., March 25, 1986.
