UPDATE OF INFORMATION ON VIOLATION OF SAFETY LIMIT AT OYSTER CREEK - Licensee and NRC review of the circumstances surrounding the event has revealed that both of the in-service recirculation discharge valves were started closed and that information in the form of a sequence of alarms printed tape had been removed and thrown into a trash basket. The licensee has suspended two supervisors and three control room operators from licensed duties and begun an internal investigation of the circumstances. An Augmented Inspection Team has been designated to followup this event. The team leader, Lee Bettenhausen, will be on site with other team members later today. CONTACT: L. Bettenhausen W.
