1 A.

PURPOSE This procediare provides actions to use normal operational systems to f

stabilize plant conditions following restcration of ac emergency power.

B.

ENTRY CONDITION This procedure was written for Modes 1, 2, 3, and 4 assuming the RCS is hot and pressurized. Using this procedure when not in these modes requires a step by step evaluation to determine if the required action is still applicable to prevent plant conditions.

This procedure is entered from E0P 35 ECA-0.0, LOSS OF ALL AC POWER, Step 25, when ac emergency power is restored and SI is not required.

1.

RCP thermal barrier cooling should be established slowly to minimize potential introduction of steam into the RPCCW system.

RCP thermal barrier cooling should not be established to an RCP with excessive seal leakage.

2.

RCP seal injection should be established slowly (bearing temperature change approximately l'F/nin.) to minimize RCP thermal stresses and potential seal failures.

3.

As part of subsequent recovery actions, RCPs should not be started prior to status evaluation.

NOTE Cther Functional Response Procedures may now be implemented as necessary.
