20555 Docket No. 50-34641L s

Y Dear Judge Hoyt a

On April 23, 1986 Mr. Jay Silberg, Attorney for Toledo Edison Co., filed a response to l

Petitioners'( Save Our State From Nuclear Wastes, Tne Consumers League of Onio, Arnold 3

Gleisser, and Genevieve S. Cook) request of April 11, 1986 for leave to intervene in j

the Davis-Besse site disposal hearing. TEC requested that Petitioners be denied stand-ing to intervene. Petitioners responded May 6, 1986. On May 16, 1986 Mr. Silber 6 filed another reply, tnis time requestin6 that Petitioners Arnold Gleisser and Genevieve Cook 4

j be denied standing.

1 In this second reply Mr. Silberg enallenbed the authorization of Genevieve Cook to file on behalf of these two groups and tncir membership. Attached are some letters which attest to the fact that I have their permission to represent them.

l In late October at the annual Consumers League luncheon, part of the program was a short 4

debate (pro-con) on nuclear power. During the question period which followed, one member brou6ht up the Davis-Besse site burial issue. All the members present were astonished and Greatly concerned over this infomation, including two members present from the 4

i Catawba area.

Subsequently, the Consumers League Board sanctioned our petition to intervene in the i

hearind. It should be mentioned also that Petitioner Arnold Gleisser is a member of the CLO Board. This letter is to arnra tnat we are all worxing together.

I We received notice today of our acceptance as intervenors in this Davis-Besse site dis-posal hearing, which we very much appreciate.

1 Sincerely

, q g ft y $' ftY [% n l; /
