DIABLO CANYON UNIT 2 - ISSilANCE OF SSER 31 Enclosed is Diablo Canyon SSER 31 presenting the staff evaluation nn a variety of issues in support of the Unit 2 low power license.
We request that the report be issued in accordance with the attached Board Notification. The required' publications release form is also enclosed for your signature.
The report is based on inputs provided by various review branches, sections prepared by the Project Manager and subsequently reviewed 'and commented on by reviewers, and extensive discussions between the Project Manager, reviewers and Branch Chiefs. Attached are Tables 1-1. and 1-2 of SSER 31 identifying the reviewers involved in the preparation of the report.
The report does not include any issue that requires further resolution prior to fuel load or low power operation. Tables 2-1 and 2-2 of the report identify the status of resolution of all items, including actions / modifications that must be completed prior to fuel load. The PG&E letter of April 25, 1985 on readiness for operations states that these are now completed or reaffirms the commitment that they will be completed as required.
