1. E.Bulletin 83-08

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In accordance with your request, the following information is provided in response to I. E.Bulletin 83-08 on electrical circuit breakers with an undervoltage trip feature in use in safety-related applications other than the reactor trip system.

We have completed our investigation to identify any safety-related circuit breakers with undervoltage (UV) trip attachments at PNPP. No Westinghouse DB, DS or GE type AK-2 circuit breakers, with the UV trip feature, have been used at Perry. Furthermore, there are no similar UV trip applications, as described in I. E.Bulletin 83-08, existing in any other breakers at Perry. All UV tripping is accomplished using external devices which provide an electrical trip signal to the breaker.

Based on the information above, we conclude that the concerns of the I. E.

Bulletin are not applicable to the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.

Very truly yours,

$ f Wh Murray R. Edelman Vice President Nuclear Group MRE:kay cc: Jay Silberg, Esq.
