5 This~is in response to the letter dated January ~17, 1990 from Mr. A. B. Davis regarding inputs for the proposed Licensee Information Conference. We believe that a-conference of this type results in improved communications at all levels n
of our organizations and therefore we will be pleased to participate.

.As' requested in-the January 17th letter we have the following suggestions for some specific topics on' subject areas to be addressed:
~(1) SALP process and changes being considered.
(2) -NRC policy toward overview and inspection of plant operation by state agencies.
'(3). NRC position with regard to implementation of NSAC-125 guidelines for 50.59 (we understand that resident inspectors were given a presentation on-NSAC-125 on January 24, 1990).
(4) Changing: role of' utility Quality Assurance organizations; i.e. from compliance audits to perforcance based inspections, self assessments, etc.
-(5) Maintenance Rule (6) NRC-INP0 Interface / Relationship; eg. assessment of INP0's accomplishments in the areas of training, maintenance and professionalism.
