Docket No. 50-289 Technical Specification Change Request No. 227, Supplement 1 Response to NRC Request for AdditionalInformation Technical Specification Change Request (TSCR) No. 227, which was submitted on January 16,1995, incorporates certain improvements from the Standard Technical Specifications (STS) for B&W Plants (NUREG-1430). The purpose of this letter is to respond to the NRC's request for additional information (RAI) dated May 16,1995 related to TSCR No. 227 and provide replacement Technical Specification (TS) pages to resolve the NRC's comments as discussed in a meeting at the TMI site on March 20,1995.

Enclosed is the GPU Nuclear response to the NRC's request along with the revised TSCR o- pages. ' Double margin bars have been used to show the changes to TS pages resulting from r$$ this supplement. Please insert the revised replacement pages in the TSCR package and

$8' remove the outdated pages. The double margin bars are provided to facilitate review and 80 should be irmoved prior to issuance of the amendment. Also enclosed is a Certificate of Service for this request, certifying service to the chief executives of the township and county
