Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Unit 2 NPF-8 License Condition 2.C.(19)(c)
As required by the Joseph M. Farley Unit 2 Full Power License, NPF-8 (paragraph 2.C.(19)(c)), the final design and implementation schedule of the modification of the lubrication system of the two Fairbanks-Morse opposed - piston diesel generators (1C and 2C) is to be submitted to the NRC, within su months of issuance of the license.
Enclosed as Attachment 1 is a design which will provide continuous lubrication to the lower crank shaft bearings with immediate lubrication to the upper crank shaft bearings upon startup.
It is Alabama Power Company's judgement that this design fully meets the requiraments of the license condition contained in paragraph 2.C.(13)
(c). Attachment 2 indicates Colt Industries' concurrence with this position. This modification is scheduled to be completed prior to power operation following the first refueling.
