Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Steam Generator Replacement Related Technical Specifications Change Request Revision I to Desdver 1.1998 Submittal Ladies and Gentlemen:

I lI In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted a proposed amendment to the Farley Nuclear Plant (FNP) Unit I and Unit 2 Technical Specifications (TS) in a letter dated December 1,1998. The amendment request addressed the required Technical Specifications changes associated with the replacement of the current Westmghouse Model $ 1 h 06/

steam generators with the Westinghouse Model 54F. Since the date of this submittal, minor changes have been identified in the submittal package.

The first item resulted from a typographical error identified in the FNP Improved Technical Specification j

(ITS) submittal currently under review by the NRC. During the preparation of the Steam Generator Replacement (SGR) TS submittal package, this error resulted in an incorrect deletion of a small part of section 5.5.9 which provided the SG Inspection Results Category definitions.

A second item resulted from an error discovered on page 2.1-10 of the NSSS Licensing Report submitted as i to the December 1,1998 letter. The error was identified in the formula used to calculate the stress in the bolts which connect the steam generator support feet to the support column. This resulted in a change to the calculated stress equal to approximately two percect on the allowable stress. The recalculated l

stress remams within the allowable value. The corrected values are in Table 2.1-4 on page 2.1-10, in the l:

Upset and Faulted columns for Steam Generator Columns.
