Dear Representative Hall:

I am shocked to learn of the possibility that the Zimmer nuclear facility under construction in southwestern Ohio contains serious construction flaws.

According to Tom Applegate, an Ondercover investigator who worked in the plant, and Tom Devine of the Government Accounting Project in Washington, D.C., there l are many problems with the facility: ,

. crucial welds were shoddily performed

. "non-critical" components were substituted for " critical." components .

. valves rated at Jow pressure tolerances were placed in piping which contains much higher pressure loads

.there have already been a number of accidents regarding piping and valve defects Representativei.Haill, all citizens, whether they be for or against the use of nuclear power, should be gravely concerned with allegations that the Zimmer plant is seriously flawed.

Please push for a thorouch investigation of the Zimmer facility. The potential cost in human lives cemands an immediate and thorough investigation.
