LER No.80-031 Omaha Public Power District Fort Calhoun Station Unit No.1 Docket No. 05000285 Attachment No. 1 Safety Analysis During normal operation, a leak was observed in the weld which con-nects the demineralized water flush line to the discharge manifold of Charging Pump CH-18. Charging pumps CH-1A and CH-1C were operable during the time that CH-1B was recoved from service for repair of the weld, therefore, the requirements of Technical Specification 2.2 were met.

There was no significant radiation exposure to plant personnel or activity released.

LER No.80-031 Omaha Public Power District Fort Calhoun Station Unit No.1 Docket No. 05000285 Attachment No. 2 Corrective Action M.0. 8098 was initiated to repair the weld which connects the Jemineralized water flush line to the discharge manifold of Charging Pump CH-1B. The weld crack was ground out and the area was rewelded.

The weld was dye penetrant checked and hydrotested. Charging pump CH-1B was then returned to service.

An engineering evaluation is being performed on the problem of vibration of the demineralized water flush line (reference EEAR FC 89).
