Summary Report on Radioactive Effluents
Dear Sir:
Reference (b) informed Vermont Yankee that the Office of Management and Program Analysis is preparing a summary report on radioactive effluents released from commercial nuclear power plants during 1978. In order to verify the accurac'f of the information before its publication, a draft copy of the data which applies to Vermont Yankee was forwarded by Reference (b) for our review.
After reviewing the data provided, Vermont Yankee has only one comment, which deals with the section of the report entitled, " Gas Effluents Elevated Relsase". The table in this section shows the quarterly release of Krypton 85 to be less than 1.05E-7 curies. This information is misleading. Krypton 85 was not detected in the off gas mix; the number given refers to the limit of detectability of this isotope and has units of micro curies per cubic centimeters, not curies.
