() FINAL R2 PORT ON PRD-80/24 I. Description of Deficiency This deficiency involves containment gas analysis systems supplied by Consip, Inc. The defect was reported by Comsip pursuant to 10 CFR 21 on April 3, 1980. The defect is design in nature and pertains to potential pump damage and/or the breaching of system integrity should the system pump be isolated while operating. Further descriptive details are provided in the preceding attachment (Attachment #1 to AECM-80/116).

II. Safety 1mplications This deficiency could result in breaching the integrity of the -

containment gas analysis system and, as such, represents a potential for the release of containment gas outside of containment. In view of this potential safety hazard, this deficiency has been determined to be a reportable condition under 10 CFR 50.55(e) and also meets the

~

reporting requirements of 10 CFR 21.

, i III. Corrective Actions Consip, as indicated in Attachment #1, has proposed the installation of a by-pass line on the pump discharge to prevent the overpressure situation in the event the pump is isolated. This modification is expected to be completed for GGNS by August, 1980. Bechtel Management Corrective Action Report (MCAR) - GGNS No. 78 is tracking corrective actions associated with PRD-80/24 and is available for your review at the GGNS jobsite.
