2) AECM-83/0668, 10-17-83 4) AECM-83/0551, 9-6-83 Per Reference 1, Mississippi Power & Light Company (MP&L) requested an extension to November 30, 1985, for the submittal of a final response for the potential deficiency identified on Unit 2 in References 1, 2 and 3. The deficiency concerns the failure of Agastat GP series relays to change state when called upon to operate.

The November 30, 1985 date was dependent upon resumption of construction activities in August, 1985, assuming that Unit I would be declared commercial in March, 1985. It was believed that by November 30, 1985, construction forces would be adequate to begin a survey on the open quality related documents.

Unit I was not declared commercial until July 1, 1985.

Since normal construction activities on Unit 2 did not resume as scheduled and Unit 2 construction was suspended in September, 1985, MP&L will be unable to provide a final report for Unit 2 by November 30, 1985, as previously indicated. MP&L hereby requests that further update to PRD-83/12 be deferred until a_6er Unit 2 construction restart.
