SUMMARY

OF APRIL 28, 2005, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR POWER STATION On April 28, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Joint News Center, Oswego County Airport, Fulton, NY, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Constellation. The NRC requested the meeting with Constellation management to discuss NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station for calendar year 2004. On the same day, at 7:00 p.m., an outreach discussion was held by the NRC with the public to discuss the ROP performance assessment of Nine Mile Point and FitzPatrick. This discussion was held at the Assembly Hall in the Town of Scriba, Scriba, NY.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Nine Mile Point Units 1 and 2 for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2004. The NRC presentation included background on both plants, performance assessment results, an overview of calendar year 2005 planned inspections and oversight, and a discussion of general NRC issues. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, Constellation presented an overview of their performance.

The public observed the 1 p.m. meeting and was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Constellations performance at Nine Mile Point and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and Constellation, the NRC answered questions from the public.
