MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - CLOSED PREDECISIONAL ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCE

Dear Sir/Madam:

This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Mr. Sid Powell of Florida Power Corporation and me on January 28, 2002, concerning a closed predecisional enforcement conference which has been scheduled for February 22, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss an apparent violation of 10 CFR 50.5, Deliberate Misconduct, associated with an NRC Office of Investigations report. The conference will be held at the NRC Region II Office, Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street, S.W., Atlanta, Georgia, Suite 24T20. The meeting will be closed in accordance with Section V of The General Statement of Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions, NUREG - 1600 (Enforcement Policy) in that enforcement action is being considered against an individual.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter with your name removed will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
