MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - 2012 U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC) INITIAL EXAMINATION WRITERS WORKSHOP To: All Region II Licensees:
This letter serves to notify recipients that there will be an examination writers workshop sponsored by NRC Region II at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Learning Center, located at 265 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30303.
This Category 2 meeting has been scheduled for September 25-26, 2012, beginning at 12:00 PM (EDT) on the 25th, and ending at 3:30 PM on the 26th. The meeting notice, which provides location and additional details is enclosed. The purpose of the meeting is to provide insights and share experiences on issues relating to the operator licensing process. This years workshop will include presentations on key activities relating to the post-exam process, a discussion on the new ANSI 3.4 medical standards, NRCs guidance on developing SRO-level test items, providing plausibility statements with the written exam submittal, developing the operating test outline, changes to the licensed operator requalification inspection procedures, correcting subset issues, the requirements for the administrative JPM portion of the operating test and a question-and-answer forum.
Members of your operations and training staff involved with writing the examinations are invited to attend this workshop. Please provide the names and positions of your staff that plan to
