MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - PUBLIC MEETING REGULATORY CONFERENCE - CRYSTAL RIVER NUCLEAR PLANT, DOCKET NO: 50-302

Dear Mr. Young:

This letter confirms the conversation between Mr. Dennis Herrin of your staff and Mr. Son Ninh of the NRC Region II staff on July 6, 2005, concerning a Regulatory Conference, being conducted at your request, which has been scheduled for July 22, 2005, at 10:00 a.m.

(EST). The meeting notice, which provides additional details, is enclosed. The purpose of the Regulatory Conference is to discuss the risk significance of the inspection finding documented in Inspection Report No. 05000302/2005007. This finding involved unprotected post-fire safe shutdown cables and a related non-feasible local manual operator action, and was preliminarily characterized as a greater than very low safety significance (GREEN) finding.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
