MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - 2011 U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC) INITIAL EXAMINATION WRITERS WORKSHOP This letter serves to notify recipients that there will be an examination writers workshop sponsored by NRC Region II at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Learning Center, located at 265 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30303.

This Category 2 meeting has been scheduled for August 2-3, 2011, beginning at 12:00 PM (EDT) on the 2nd, and ending at 3:30 PM on the 3rd. The meeting notice, which provides location and additional details, is enclosed. The purpose of the meeting is to present details and share experiences of last years Lessons Learned, internal agency guidance relevant to exam development or administration, license application requirements, simulator scenario critical task development, application of initial written exam standards to the requalification biennial written exam, a recap of the SRO-Only guidance with NUREG 1021, Rev. 9, Supplement 1, operating test requirements, correcting commonly seen psychometric flaws, plausibility guidance, and a question-and-answer forum.

Members of your operations and training staff involved with writing the examinations are invited to attend this workshop. Please provide the names and positions of your staff that plan to attend the workshop to Ms. Janet Vincent by July 22, 2011, either by phone (404) 997-4765 or by electronic mail to janet.vincent@nrc.gov.
