On October 3,1980, the Resioent Reactor Inspector at the South Texas Project received, by telephone, from an anonymous alleger, the following allegations:

1.

A construction foreman was fired because he resisted pressures on his

men.

Brown and Root is hiring back persons who were fired as a result of the

NRC Investigation No. 50-498/79-19; 50-499/79-19. Therefore, construction

may slip back into their old ways.

3.

Documentation of a safety-related activity has been falsified.

l 4.

Review and documentation of the above documentation has been inadequate.

It is requested that your investigatory staff investigate this matter.

RC&ES Branch will make personnel available to assist you in this effort.
