ALLEGATIONS REGARDING SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT DN 50-498; 50-499 On August 23,1978..I received a telephone call from Mr. Dan Swayzey, 'a Brown & Root QC Lead Inspector-Civil at STP, who had been terminated by 1

his conpany on August 22,1978, for alleged misconduct.

Mr. Swayzey requested a meeting with the NRC to discuss alleged QC-Civil i

problems at the STP. He stated that he had specific examples of break-down in the QA/QC program that compromised the quality of plant construc-tion in safety related areas. He also stated that he was very upset about d

his recent termination by Brown & Root and was giving serious thought to i

going to the press. He said he lived in Port Lavaca Texas (512 552-5076) and would be available for interview the evening of August 23.

i I informed Mr. Swayzey that the RIV office would contact him soon to arrange for an interview.
