Gentlemen:

During Unit 2 power operation, a Unit 2 fire barrier Limiting Condition for Operation-(LCO)-was initiated, at 1200 hours0.0139 days <br />0.333 hours <br />0.00198 weeks <br />4.566e-4 months <br />' July 31, 1989,'- for fire door no; 301, located.at penetration seal no. R2-3-007, the inner door of the Reactor Building 50' elevation southwest personnel. airlock. The LCO was

. initiated to permit replacement of the door and door frame in order to correct a misalignment and sticking problem which hampers operation of the door. Due to the scope.of the involved work, the seven-day time frame of the LCO was exceeded'on August 7, 1989. Restoration of the door to functional status is

- expected by September 8, 1989. Until cancellation of the LCO, required fire watches w111' remain in effect.
