Gentlemen:

During Unit 2 power operation, aLUnit 2 fire barrier Limiting Condition,for Operation (LCO)'was initiated, at 0500 hours0.00579 days <br />0.139 hours <br />8.267196e-4 weeks <br />1.9025e-4 months <br /> July 17, 1989, for fire door no. 303, located at penetration seal no. R1-3-020, the inner door'of the Reactor Building 50' elevation northeast. personnel airlock. The LCn was' initiated to permit replacement of the door and door frame in order to correct-a misalignment and sticking problem which hampers opening the door. Due to the scope of the involved work, the seven-day time-frame of the LCO was exceeded on July 24, 1989.

Reste ation of the door to functional status is expected by August 314 1989.

Until cancellation of the LCO, required fire watches will remain'in'effect~ .
