Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On January 3, 1984, while performing the weekly operability test of the Fire Suppression Water System, PT-35.1, the diesel driven fire pump was rendered inoperable due to the failure of the diesel starter motor solenoid. Due to an
' unavailability of replacement parts needed to repair-the starter motor, the seven-day time frame of the involved LCO on the diesel driven fire pump was exceeded. The needed replacement parts, which were evaluated by plant Engineering as acceptable in meeting the Fire Protection Q-list criteria, were obt'ained and on January 24, 1984, the diesci fire pump was returned to service.
