SHUTDOWN OUTSIDE APPENDIX R DESIGN BASIS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 Enclosed is Licensee Event Report 1998-030-00 for Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2.
This report is provided in accordance with 10 CFR 50.73(a)(2)(ii), as, "Any event or condition that resulted in the nuclear power plant being:...(B) In a condition that was outside the design basis of th wt." This report describes the discovery by the Appendix R Rebaselining Program that the si m safety related battery chargers were inappropriately classified as equipment needed on.' f ,r cold shutdown. Under certain fire scenarios the battery chargers may be needed to energize na 125 VDC distribution buses while still in hot shutdown.
