StN-1107, Occket 70-1151 Westinghouse Letter Dated April 20, 1987 Concerning Free Release of Industrial Products In the above-referenced letter, Westinghouse Electric Corporation Commercial Nuclear Fuel Division requested an amendment to SPN-1107 to authorize the free release of hydrofluoric acid solutions..In telephone conversations between Dr. Edward Shum (NRC) and Mr. Edward Reitler (Westinghouse), the following information was requested:

Brush Wellman Company a.

Magnesium fluoride sludge production -- 2-3 million pounds per year b.

Beryllium metal production -- :P 90,000 pounds per year 2.

Western Zirconium a.

Sludge production -- 32,000 pounds per year b.

Source material in calcium *hloride lagoons -- 0.092 mg U per liter (average)
