AMENDMENT REQUEST FOR SNM-1227. DATED MARCH 18. lw7 (TAC NO. 30956) AND A REVISION TO THE EMERGENCY PLAN DATED APRIL 28, 1997

Dear Mr. Mass:

In accordance with your application datad March 18, 1997, and supplements dated April 15. May 21. June 6. and July 10, 1997, and pursuant to Part 70 of Title-10 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1227 is hereby amended to allow Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) to use a rotary vacuum filter in the revised mop powder uranium recovery process.

Accordingly, Safety Condition S-1 is modified to include the dates of M6rch 18. April 15 May 21, June 6.-and July 10, 1997.

Plan. ~ ter dated August 15. 1997, we informed you that our_ review of Revisios . nad determined that the changes did not decrease the response effectivecess of the Plan. Therefore, Safety Condition S-2 is also revised to reflect the new revision of the Emergency Plan, as follows:

S-2 The licensee shall maintain and execute the response measures in the Emergency Plan . Revision 21. dated April 28, 1997: or as further ravised by the licensee consistent with 10 CFR 70.32(i). t All other conditions of the license shall remain the same.
