SUMMARY

OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON APRIL 1, 2009, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC., CONCERNING DRAFT REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE INDIAN POINT NUCLEAR GENERATING UNIT NOS. 2 AND 3, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION - OPEN ITEMS The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., (Entergy or the applicant) held a telephone conference call on April 1, 2009, to discuss and clarify the staff's draft requests for additional information (D-RAIs) concerning certain open items identified in the Safety Evaluation Report with Open Items Related to the License Renewal of Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3.

By email dated February 24, 2009, the staff transmitted follow-up D-RAIs to Entergy for several structural-related open items. This transmission was followed by a telephone conference call on March 2, 2009 to discuss the D-RAIs. The purpose of the call on April 1, 2009, was to discuss the revisions to the D-RAIs. The telephone conference call was useful in clarifying the intent of the revisions. No changes to the revised D-RAIs were necessary as a result of this telephone conference call.
