Changes to the AFRRI TRIGA Reactor Emergency Plan Document Control Desk U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Wa9hington, DC 20555 i

1. The attached enclosures are changes to the AFRRI emergency plan. These changes were effected to comply with recommendations made by USNRC staff during the AFRRI emergency plan appraisal and emergency test exercise. Change one includes an Emergency Action Level (EAL) for the Stack Gas Monitor (SGM) alarm point which is the correction of a misplaced decimal in the original EAL. The change reflects correct '

alarm points as operationally set, currently and historically, on the SGM. There are two additional changes as noted.

2. The changes were reviewed by the AFRRI Reactor and Radiation Facility Safety Committee (RRFSC) on 23 February 1984 and found to comply with 10 CFR 50.54q, in that they do not decrease the effectiveness of the plan.

3. These changes were submitted to the USNRC originally on 12 April 1984 but apparently were not placed in the proper distribution channels. We therefore resubmit the original package.

4. This submission is for your information and, under 10 CFR 50.54q, prior approval of the NRC is not required for implementation. These changes should be posted to your documents.
