Dear Sir:
The Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (license R-84, docket 50-170) h'as completed changes to its reactor facility physical security plan without prior Commission approval es authorized by 10 CFR 50.54 (p) (2) .
Both of these changes are only administrative corrections.
They do not change either security-related equipment or reactor procedures. The sections affected were correctly shown in the previous approved plan version (Summer 1990), but were not appropriately transferred to the 01 August 1993, Revision 1 plan.
These corrections do not decrease the effectiveness of the current Revision 1 plan.
The changes contained in Revision 2 are:
- a. On page 3, section 4.a.(6) is added to allow visitors such as tours into the controlled access area,
- b. On page 8, section 5.e(7) is corrected to state that the uninterruptible power supply is located in the RCA, not the CAA.
Please remove pages 3 and 8 from the 01 August 1993, Revision 1 plan and insert the attached Revision 2 pages.
The attached pages contain DoD Unclassified Nuclear Information (DoD UNCI) and, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790, public disclosure of the details of the physical security plan is not in the public interest. As such, these replacement pages are to be withheld from public disclosure.
