The above referenced letter indicated submittal of a final report to the USNRC by August 15, 1983.
The screening and review for reportability of historical CIWAs identified by the original SCD has been completed. It was determined that several deficiencies identified on CIWAs were reportabic, however, these deficiencies had been previously reported to the NRC and were not dependent on this review.            It can therefore be concluded that although the CIWAs did not undergo a formal review process for 10 CFR 50.55(e) reportability, significant deficiencies were being identified by other means and were being reported to the NRC when discovered.
At the present time, the mechanism by which CIWAs will be reviewed for reportability on a permanent basis has not yet been finalized. A final report will therefore be submitted to the USNRC by November 18, 1983.

" Inadequate Review of CIWAs for Reportability" Third Interim Report

REFERENCE:

LP&L Letter W3I83-0161 dated May 11, 1983

Dear Mr.
