OF PUBLIC MEETING

On April 28, 2015, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Marano Campus Center Auditorium, State University of New York, Oswego, NY, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public open-house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station for 2014.

A notice of the open-house was issued April 1, 2015, and posted on the NRC's external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML15092A179.

ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The NRC presented poster boards, fact sheets, and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2014, as documented in our letter dated March 4, 2015 (ADAMS Accession No.

ML15057A333). The NRC poster boards and fact sheets included background on the Reactor Oversight Process. Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station can be found on the NRC's web site at:

www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/index.html. Members of the public, local officials, and members of the media attended the open-house and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station performance, and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
