        SUBJECT:      SEABROOK SENIOR REACTOR OPERATOR AND REACTOR OPERATOR
                      INITIAL EXAMINATION REPORT NO. 50-443/98-301
        Dear Mr. Feigenbaum:
        This report transmits the results of the senior reactor operator (SRO) and reactor operator
        (RO) licensing examinations, conducted by the facility and NRC examiners, on October 16,
        and during the week of October 19-23,1998 at the Seabrook Station. The examinations
        addressed areas important to public health and safety and were developed and
        administered under the guidelines of Interim Revision 8 of the Operator Licensing
        Examination Standards for Power Reactors (NUREG-1021) Based on the results of the
        examinations, all five SRO and all four RO applicants passed all portions of the
        examination. At the conclusion of the operating examination, Mr. P. Bissett discussed the
        preliminary findings with members of your staff.

        In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
        and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
