SUMMARY

OF THE JUNE 25, 2013, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE 2012 KEWAUNEE POWER STATION END-OF-CYCLE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On June 25, 2013, a public meeting was held at the Town Hall in the Town of Carlton, WI, between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Kewaunee Power Station management, and the public to discuss NRC activities, nuclear power issues, Kewaunee Power Station performance for the period of January 1, 2012, through December 31, 2012, and the decommissioning of Kewaunee Power Station. The NRC letter and meeting notice for this public meeting can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML13161A396 and ML13161A428, respectively. The presentation that was shown during the public meeting can also be found in ADAMS as ML13204A138.

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Program (ROP),

national ROP results, and the Action Matrix in general. This was followed by a discussion of the NRCs assessment of the performance of Kewaunee Power Station and a general discussion on the transition to a plant undergoing decommissioning. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, the licensee briefly responded to the NRCs assessment. At the end of the meeting, members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions of NRC officials. A list of principal meeting attendees can be found in the attached enclosure.
