Dear Mr. Morey:

Thank you for your response of January 23. 1998, to our Notice of Violation (Notice) issJed on December 29. 1997, concerning activities conducted at four facility. We have examined your response and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.

In your response, you admitted Violation A and denied Violation B. Regarding Violation A we have evaluated your response and found that the response meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions during future inspections.

Regarding Violation B. your response provided additional information regarding the design basis for equipment protection from tornado-generated missiles. We will review this additional information in determining if a violation of regulatory requirements existed. You will be informed of our decision in this regard by future correspondence.
